Biography: Michele Williams joined SECME in June 2002 as Program Manager for Community Engagement for SECME’s Early College High School Initiative. She later became the Director of that initiative and now serves as Executive Director for SECME. Michele’s education and background are in communications and community relations, and she holds degrees in journalism and English from Syracuse University. Prior to joining SECME, Michele worked in marketing management for American Express and later owned her own business developing and delivering community leadership, life and business skills training for clients in the public, private, non-profit and faith-based sectors. Michele is a certified facilitator for The University of Georgia’s Fanning Institute.
She has served on the boards of the Gwinnett Health and Human Services Commission and AVID Eastern Region. She volunteers her time as a sign language interpreter for the Deaf, a facilitator for The Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute and life skills trainer for Nicholas House Homeless Shelter. A native of New York City, Michele relocated to Georgia in 1990 with her husband and daughter.
