Summary: This model will review the strategy and objectives of the VEX game concluding this summer.  It will introduce the 2018-2019 VEX competition objectives, and give participants the opportunity to begin construction and design process steps needed to prepare teams for fielding a competitive robot next summer.

Biography: Manuel Cox has been teaching all levels of Chemistry and the pre-engineering Project Lead the Way curriculum at American Senior High for over 17 years.  He has been a Master Teacher with the SECME Summer Institute for 14 years.  This dedicated innovator not only specializes in VEX Robotics and Water Bottle Rocket modules, but is especially adept at creating new methods of teaching common concepts.  During his instructional career he has been awarded numerous accolades, including the 2011 SECME Teacher of the Year Award.  The contributions he has made to the Interstate New Teacher Assessment & Support Consortium (INTASC) and the National Board Professional Teaching Standards current guidelines in both Career Technology Education and Chemistry, suggest that he is truly a renaissance educator.
